THE Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is back - and it's bigger and better than ever before.

The famous badge has returned after eight years and claims a top speed of over 210mph.

That makes it the fastest and most powerful Chevy EVER - and a rival to the £450,000 Ford GT.

The 'Vette ZR1 gets 755bhp from a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 engine - that's more than 300bhp than a standard Corvette Stingray that nobody ever accused of being a slouch.

The outrageous American supercar is the proverbial middle finger to its next-generation hybrid and electric-powered rivals.

You can strap on a "High Wing" to add extra grip plus other fancy aerodynamic options if you're serious about lap records.

There's a seven-speed manual option - and for the first time ever on a ZR1 an auto 'box.

The carbon fibre bonnet has a "halo" opening in the middle to help cool the giant engine.

It's perhaps not the most practical with the rear wing bolted to the chassis - just like the Corvette Racing C7.R.

While that's great for racing it means you have to lug your shopping over the rear wing to get into the boot.

This car, revealed to the world this week, is finished in the all-new Sebring Orange paint that includes garish orange brake calipers, orange seat belts and orange stitching.

It'll hit US dealers in spring next year with a price tag of over £100,000.

Mark Reuss, executive vice president, global product development, purchasing and supply chain, said: "I've never driven a Corvette like this before, and nobody else has either, because there's never been one like this before.
